I am totally freaking out right now! I got a summons from the court clerks office that is calling me to jury duty. I know it is my civic duty and all, but there is a HUGE problem with that... We can't afford for my hubby to take any time off for me to do it and I don't have a sitter. We are going to go up to the court house in the morning so I can talk to them. I will keep everyone posted on what is going on. Blessings...
My husband gave me my anniversary presant today...
My husband Paul gave me my anniversary presant today. Out of the blue, our anniversary isn't until May 31st. Today he gave me a 2000 Ford F 150, extended cab, 4 door that is white. I finally have my truck now and I am ecstatic!!! He knew how much I missed the Dodge and I wanted a truck. He got me one. I'm not much of a Ford person, I prefer Dodge or Chevy, but I am not complaining. It is a good looking truck and it wasn't too expensive either (it was only $4,000), so I am not complaining about it be a Ford. I posted some pictures. I just very happy today and extremel surprised. I hope everyone's weekend went the way they wanted it to. Blessings all!!!
I survived the weekend...
I actually survived the weekend. On Saturday, we went and got Damien's hair cut and then we came home to do some prepping for Sunday's big BBQ. Paul mowed the lawn and I spent hours in the house getting stuff baked and prepped. I made over 30 cupcakes and then a regular cake for Paul like I do every year. I got the steaks marinating in Jack Daniel's marinade, and the pork chops in liquid smoke. I made deviled eggs and cleaned like there was no tomorrow. The house got vaccumed, swept and mopped all within a matter of hours.
On Sunday, we got up kinda early expecting a bunch of people. Paul got the grill ready and had it heating up. I took him out the steaks and pork chops around noon and he started grilling. The whole time I am inside peeling 10 pounds of potatoes. I fried potatoes and made corn on the cob while him and Damien were outside waiting on people.
My friend Jennifer was the first one to arrive. It was the first time she had been to the new house and had brought her boyfriend and her 4 1/2 year old son (MAJOR disaster!!!). The next to show up was my sister-in-law and her idiot, I mean boyfriend. Then came Carla, my cousin Nick's wife and one of my best friends and their daughter Riley (we are always happy to see them). Paul was grilling, I was cooking and people were talking.
Everyone stayed for a few hours, with the exception of my sister-in-law (they left early cause her idiot had to go to work. boo hoo). Carla and Riley were there for quite a while and they headed to our Memaw's after about 4 hours. Then another of my cousin's showed up with one of Paul's buddies from work. They ate, stayed a while and chatted, drank a little with Paul, and then had to head off.
Jenny, her boyfriend and her son left right before we took off, somewhere around 6. We took dinner to Paul's grandparents. That was rather enjoyable. They were ecstatic that we brought them dinner. Then we came home with a bunch of apples and oranges (my grandfather-in-law is a health food nut). Damien bit into an orange and gave everybody an upset look. He wanted an apple, but grab an orange (right now, everything that is round is an apple).
Went to see my "mom" when we got back to town and she filled up my gas tank (almost 40 bucks for 3/4 of a tank), kissed her grandbaby and was headed out to the country to shoot beavers. She was going to send me with the truck, but she needed it. So, all in all, I survived the weekend. Could have been better. Not everyone that was supposed to show up did, but all that matters is that Paul had fun and we got to spend some time with friends.
Paul's birthday...

Buried at PhotoCasket
Paul's birthday is Saturday and we are having a cookout on Sunday. He has the easy job... he is going to stand at the grill. I have alot to do inside (I have alot of cooking to do), so wish me luck that I make it through the weekend. I'm gonna need it. Bright Blessings all!!!
